Happy Birthday Doc!

Today Doc is 2 years old! We've had Doc for a little over a year and a half. Doc truly found us, just as much as we found him...we talked about getting a dog off and on but still hadn't decided if we wanted the extra responsibility and endless amounts of dog hair to invade our home. We were in Spokane in May of 06 for Tyler's dad's funeral and Doc was a neighbor to our friends the Oranen's. He was still just a little pup and hadn't found a home yet, so he'd wander over to the Oranen's house and make himself at home on their front porch. As Tyler spent a lot of time at the Oranen's house during the time we were in Spokane, Tyler came to love Doc, and Doc seemed to take a liking to Tyler. After only a few brief conversations, we decided that Doc was going to be our dog so we picked him up after Dave's funeral. We had no idea how to be dog parents and didn't have a single item for him, but during the drive back to Bellingham I instantly fell in love, as he slept curled up on my lap the whole way. He was originally named "Dock" but we liked the idea of his name being "Doctor" and now call him Doc. It has been an extremely fitting name, as he truly helped bring healing to our hearts during a time of deep sorrow after the death of Dave. We love him so much and he has been a great older brother to Riley (although he probably isn't too fond of the idea of another little being in the house, sucking up all our attention).

The picture on the left was taken when he was just a little guy and the one on the right is him this past summer on the beach. Sidenote: Doc's favorite past time is chasing seagulls on the beach, and yes, he truly does believe that he can catch them. It is quite a sight to see him racing through the waves at mach-one after the seagulls.

Happy Birthday Doc! I am so glad that you are part of our family now, so I don't have to be the only other dog. I really love when we get to play, you are my favorite wrestling partner and you are so much fun to chase because you never get tired. You are the only other dog I share my food dish and bones with. See you soon, have a fun birthday.
Love, Maggie Moose

Happy birthday Doc, -even though we haven't met, I'm sure we'd just love you!

Our doggies are 2 (Wesley) and 8 (Ceddie) this month too...

God sure knew what He was doing when He made companion animals. :)

Love the playlist. It reminds me of college. Especially the first song.
