This past Saturday we ventured out of the house and went to my favorite little spot in Bellingham - the Fairhaven district. We picked up the ornament I made for Riley...
then walked through the shops and sat and had tea while Riley slept away in her car seat. It was very festive and so nice to be able to spend some time chatting with Tyler...a rare treat these days! Today I head to Seattle where I will spend two weeks with my family, as well as catch up with old friends and show little miss Riley off to anyone and everyone who will pay attention! I am looking forward to this time away from the daily routine of being around the house, errands, chores, etc. Can't wait to see some of you!!! I might not have Internet access, so I probably won't be able to post anything until after the new year when I get back home. Love you all and have a very wonderful Christmas! love, elizabeth

The Jingle Bell Walk
Last Saturday Riley and I participated in the Jingle Bell Walk. I walked the 2 miles with her strapped to my chest and she slept peacefully the whole time. I walked with friends from my office, as it was an event my office was sponsoring. It was a clear, crisp and sunny day, so it was the perfect setting for a Saturday morning walk through downtown Bellingham. Tyler met us at the finish line and was so proud of his daughter finishing her first ever event. We even got a ribbon! After we said goodbye to our friends at the race, Tyler, Riley and I walked downtown to The Bagelry and had bagels and coffee for breakfast. It was a great Saturday morning!
One Month Old!
Today Riley is one month old! I can hardly believe it. She has grown so much. I took her to the Mother Baby Center so I could weigh her this afternoon. She is 9 lbs 2 oz! She was 7 lbs 10 oz when she was born, so she has grown quite a bit. We measured her the other night and she's still about 21 inches long. She currently has baby acne all over her face - I guess she is going through her awkward teenage years :) I secretly hope it all goes away for Christmas, so I'm not embarrassed for her when she meets lots of new people for the first time!
